June 20-25, 2023 ♥ Denver, Colorado

The AGS in-person conference includes field trips, paper sessions, evening talks, hands-on workshops, late-night gatherings, the Annual Meeting for AGS members, and the annual Awards Ceremony.  We will offer the ability for registered virtual attendees to listen live to paper sessions and evening talks.

Conference registration will include a virtual option for those who cannot attend in person. This year virtual attendance will be limited to regular paper sessions, evening lectures, and the annual meeting as technology allows. Due to the remoteness of the mountain cemetery sites and limited computer access outside of regular classrooms, virtual access will not include late nights, receptions, or field trips.

Denver Train System

On Monday through Thursday the A line leaves Denver Airport beginning at 4:12 AM at increasingly shortened intervals, every 15 minutes from 6:12 AM until 7:27 PM, with the last train departing the airport for Union Station at 1:27 AM. The train from the airport to Union Station is 37 minutes.
On Sundays, the first A line train leaves Union Station for the airport at 3:00 AM with trains every 45 minutes until 4:15 AM when the trains depart every 15 minutes until the evening (6:30 PM) when they resume longer intervals.
The ticket is the Regional Day Pass, unlimited train and bus in all zones, including airport, and is valid for one day. Cost is $10.50 for adult passengers, $5.25 for those over 65. Active military are free.

While the E tram line does leave Union Station and goes to the northern edge of DU’s campus, it is a six block, c. 30-minute walk south from the tram stop to Nagel Hall on South High Street inside the DU campus. The address of the intersection of the campus driveway and South High Street is 2201 S. High Street. The estimated cost for an Uber between Denver's Union Station (1701 Wynkoop Street) and the intersection entrance to the lane of Nagel Hall (please note, Nagel hall is at the end of the circular roundabout/cul-de-sac) is between $14.00 and $25.00 and is approximately a 25-minute drive.

The airport has taxis available for transportation - see https://www.flydenver.com/taxi for information about fares and companies.
The estimated Uber fare during peak times from DU directly to Nagel Hall is $75.00 (28 miles/50 minutes).

The conference organizers are investigating the option of running a shuttle between the airport to Nagel on Tuesday and Sunday for arrivals and departures. Please send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you are interested in this option. We are estimating $50.00 charge for this round-trip option.

Please note: DU requires us to be checked out of the dorms by 12:00 NOON on Sunday, June 25th.
